We have decided to hold off on our trip to China for stem cell therapy for now. In the beginning we were told that the treatment "can't do any harm", however in recent months we have found out that this is not true and that there seems to be a lack of evidence that the treatment is effective in treating ONH. Beike have informed us that they are currently working on medical trials to prove the effectiveness and safety of the treatment. In light of this we think it best to wait for the results of these trials before treating Imogen with it. Fingers crossed we see some positive results very soon!
On a brighter note though, a few months ago, Imogens occupational therapist suggested specialist physiotherapy treatment at The Bobath Centre in London. We have finally completed all of the preliminary paperwork and are now attending a 2 week block of treatment there in May which will hopefully improve Imogens' muscle tone problems.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way and through this3 difficult decision.
Our original goal: Raise money to pay for Stem Cell therapy at a hospital in Hangzhou, China. This could help my low muscle tone making it possible for me to walk and stand up on my own and most importantly give me better sight. The treatment costs £30,000. Please help me get to China for the chance of a better life.
Thank you.
We are no longer accepting donations for the time being as we have raised £29,949.79! Thanks to all who have helped us reach this amazing amount!
